Have you ever stood in front of a wall of supplements wondering which one to choose?

In today’s world we have so many supplement companies lining the store shelves and online with their brand and each one vying that their product is the best. It makes it so confusing and downright frustrating  to choose the one that is best for you.

I remember when I made a decision to try a supplement program instead of using prescriptions to hopefully get rid of some health issues I was having. I first went to a local health food store and quickly became overwhelmed with all the many options that were on the shelves. So I asked one of the clerks at the store for some help.  She suggested some supplements that she thought might help based on my description of my issues. I bought whatever she suggested.

It didn’t occur to me to ask questions about the integrity of the company producing the supplements and if they did research to show these actually worked. I guess the real reason I didn’t ask any questions was I didn’t know what questions to ask. This was a case of the blind leading the blind.

So if you want to know how to separate the good from the not so good, the key is to know the right questions to ask.

Here are some questions to ask when you’re looking for a high quality supplement:

Does it dissolve at the right time, in the right place?

One way to test is to see if your supplement dissolves when placed in water within 30 minutes or less. That is the same standard the pharmaceutical industry uses for tablets. Otherwise it goes in one end and out the other.

Are they being absorbed in your bloodstream?

It’s important that the supplements you are taking are absorbed and assimilated into the bloodstream where they are available to the cells. Always ask the company for peer reviewed research on their products.

Peer reviewed is the key here.

Is there balance in the formulation?

Balance is critical to a well-formulated multi-vitamin supplement. Many nutrients do not work effectively unless in a certain balance.

A good example is the b vitamin,  Biotin.  It is very expensive.

These are just a few ways to tell if the supplements you’re looking at is worth spending your money on.

I am so thankful, I did become aware of the differences in the supplements on the market and I searched until I  found a reputable company who actually folowed these protocals that are posed in this article.

Now you may be wandering where you can find a company that actually uses gold standard research and fits these stringent standards. I am happy to report that there is a natural line of nutritional supplements that meet all these criteria.
